EFT

NLPers introduced to EFT refer to it as "The Ultimate Anchor Collapse." Presented by Dr. Alexander R. Lees, an EFT expert, author of EFT - Emotional Freedom techniques - What is it and how does it work? and co-author of Freedom at Your Fingertips released April 25, 2006.

In the field of Energy Psychology, one of the more powerful modalities is EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).

EFT consists of tapping, with a finger, on nine specific acupuncture points. The individual does so while focusing on an unwanted emotional, or kinesthetic, response. This provides an electrical signal, a carrier wave, to the emotional brain. Then we add the "music." This consists of short word patterns; the reprogramming information. Once the mechanics are learned (the tapping points) the whole process takes only minutes.

It has been stated that behaviours and responses are primarily guided by the kinesthetic or emotive access based on various stimuli or triggers in the environment, be they conversation, events, situations or circumstances. This concept is congruent with Rossi's work on state bound memory, learning and behaviour.

The primary "fuel" for the state access is emotive, that is, the unwanted behaviour or response is primarily fuelled by an emotional discharge, or expression thereof. Learning EFT allows the recipient to deal directly with the genesis of the behaviour, an emotional discharge. Some emotional responses are useful, as evaluated by result and consequences. Others produce less than optimal behaviours and consequences. Learn how to edit the unwanted ones.
