Ericksonian Hypnosis and NLP:
A Useful Complement

Milton Erickson’s work has had tremendous impact across a large swath of western psychotherapy, and NLP uses him as one of several primary contributors to NLP doctrine and practice. But what really are those lineage connections? And how can a practitioner most benefit from this relationship? In this workshop we will provide demonstrations and experiential practice of ways to meld the two into a useful whole to assist in meeting your client’s outcomes. NLP is concerned with the relationship between the conscious and unconscious mind. NLP looks outward and describes how we “code” and re–code subjective experience toward desired outcomes and effects. Hypnosis, looks inward at opening, focusing, and affirming the relationship between the familiar space of our conscious self and the realm of our unconscious activity toward positive yet more permissive outcomes. These two approaches, on their own, have brought much success and deeper satisfaction to many, yet melded together they offer amazing outcomes for our clients and us.

In this workshop you will learn:

  • How to use muscle testing in defining ecological outcomes and satisfying evidence procedures.
  • How to use simple NLP procedures to reset and clear a person’s neurology as a foundation for deeper change.
  • What elements of Ericksonian Hypnosis are crucial to stabilizing and maintaining your client outcomes.
  • How to use trance work to support your NLP interventions.
