The IASH WORLD HEALTH CONFERENCE will take place in San Francisco, October 29 through 31, with a pre-conference seminar day on Oct. 28 and post-conference seminar on Nov. 1. The conference theme is Modeling Healthy Systems: The Spirit of NLP. It’s time to block out those dates on your calendar and begin thinking about your trip to San Francisco.

The Conference Committee is already at work studying the proposals for presentations and seminars. The detailed program will be ready well in advance of the conference and will be accessible on the IASH web site at www.nlpiash.org.

Membership:
IASH is an all-volunteer organization that is supported by conference fees and the dues of its members. Members will enjoy a discount on conference registration as well as access to members-only discussion forums and other sections of the web site.

You may have received an e-mail reminder to renew your membership. If you have not, please renew now through the web site. From the web site home page, click on the “join us!” tab for the membership renewal page. You will have the option of setting up automatic annual renewal or just renewing for the year. Your membership helps IASH continue with its valuable work of supporting NLP throughout the world.

Sponsorship:
We are reaching out to the NLP community to promote this event. Want to help us? Then consider joining our Sponsorship Program. When you help us promote the conference, we will offer promotional assistance to help promote you. If you are a trainer, frequent presenter, run a training organization, or if you just know a lot of NLPers who want to help us promote this year's conference, please consider becoming a 2010 Conference Sponsor. Click on “sponsors program" for more information. (NOTE: We are still accepting sponsors after Feb 1st date!!)

Marketing your publications and products at the conference:
As in the past, IASH will have a Mall for sales of your products.

You can purchase your own table and have a full display of your products for just $65. If you have only one, two or three books, you can arrange to be on the consignment table. You can submit publications on consignment even if you are not able to attend the conference! For more information please contact our volunteers at NLPMall@nlpiash.org

Lounge meeting for special interest groups:
The NLP Lounge will be organized with stations to help people find each other, including participants in the Healthy Sleep Project, Research and Recognition Project, and others.   More information will be posted on the web site as this area develops. If you would like to host a station in the lounge, please contact Kimi at NLPMall@nlpiash.org for more information.

Recordings from the 2008 conference, fully edited, are available on CD from our partners at NLP Comprehensive and currently on sale for the bargain price of $350. You can view the complete list of conference speakers and purchase the full CD set online at shopnlpco.com:

THE HEALTHY SLEEP PROJECT
IASH has undertaken a world-wide project to model the elements of healthy sleep. In this project, a group in any location around the world can form a team to model how healthy sleep occurs. Teams communicate through a special area of the IASH web site. You can participate!

IASH web site -- expanded, updated, a true source of discovery
Please go to the web site and look around! There are articles, forums, and expanded discussion sections -- information you can read, ways to connect with your NLP friends around the globe, and opportunities to contribute.

Sad news: Don Blackerby
NLP and IASH have lost an incredible friend, resource and leader. Don Blackerby passed away on, November 26, 2009, in Oklahoma City, OK.

Don ran his own consulting company, Success Skills, Inc., enriching the lives of many people, specializing in the application of NLP to the learning process and helping struggling students of all ages. His book, Rediscover the Joy of Learning, was published in 3 languages and sold worldwide. Don served in leadership roles for a number of organizations including the NLP Institute of Oklahoma and IASH. At the time of his passing Don had been serving as Co-President of the Board of Trustees for IASH.

In Don's honor the IASH Board of Trustees has created the Don Blackerby Memorial Project and Research Fund. The family has requested that any donations on Don's behalf be made c/o IASH (Institute for the Advanced Studies of Health), 63 Bovet Rd., #238, San Mateo, CA 94402-3104. Any donation to this fund is tax deductible, as IASH is a non-profit corporation.

A tribute page has been posted on the IASH web site. You are welcome to add your thoughts and memories of this dear friend. Please visit Articles / Special Announcements.
